A song about Rosalie Schiff, who survived the Holocaust because she worked at Oskar Shindler's factory. She passed away in summer of 2014, but all of her life she would stay up nights repeating the name of her little sister, Lucy Baum, who died at age 14 in Belzec Concentration Camp.
Though my head says that it's all over now
My old heart can't let go somehow
Am I supposed to go on now like it never was?
And though it hurts more than I can say,
The memory never goes away
Sometimes at night I crawl and pray that it would….
It's still worth remembering, still worth remembering
So I am remembering for the rest of my life
Oh I am remembering, yes, I am remembering
'Cause it is the remembering that keeps us alive
And I wish I could return to a time when we would yearn
For a day that we'd play in the sun, and we'd laugh and we'd dance
Now things could never be the same but it helps when I call out your name
To believe that somehow you hear
And it's still worth remembering, still worth remembering
So I am remembering for the rest of my life
Oh I am remembering, I am remembering
'Cause it is the remembering that keeps us alive
It keeps us alive...
